How do I get pig manure stink of dog???

Dog has run and rolled in a field just watered with pig manure water. Twat.

I have washed him twice with the normal shampoo (baby powder- he’s 8 months old). The water is running clear, but god he stinks still.

What can I realistically do tonight (can’t get to shop until tomorrow) to reduce the stench?

I think Ketchup is supposed to neutralise the smell of fox poo so that might work?

Tomato juice - providing its not something like a bichon frise (or providing you're happy to have a pale orange dog for a while)

I was also going to suggest Ketchup. My dog rolled on wild boar poo ( live in Spain ) & I was retching with the stink. A friend suggested ketchup and it did work.

Try tea-tree shampoo, works well for fox poo, good luck it sounds awful!

No suggestions but solidarity! Ddog rolled in a cow pat within 1 hour of pitching on a campsite and going for a quick walk. It was a hosepipe on campsite wash of dog!

I used ketchup and it seems to have worked! He is certainly less stinky! I now need to wash my sofa covers as he previous rubbed his wet stinky self on them.

I believe fox shit will mask the smell. Certainly seemed to have worked on my shoes, having stepped in both types of excrements.
Although the said shoes are now hanging on a hook, outside on the shed.

I don't suppose you can do that with your dog?

At least he has the decency to look slightly ashamed of himself Grin

Rub him with tomato ketchup or tomato pureé then shampoo him. For future occasions Animology Fox Poo shampoo works.
