Puppy feeding

If my 8 week old puppy doesn't eat all his kibble in 1 go - within 10 mins - should I leave it down for the next hour or so, or remove the food until the next feed time? I'm feeding my cocker every 4 hours. Many thx x obviously his water stays down all day

Are you definitely feeding the correct amount? Kibble packaging often suggests a much higher amount than they actually need.

I wouldn’t insist on him finishing all his food, but I would remove the bowl once he walks away and offer again at next meal time. I really dislike free feeding and it’ll make toilet training so much harder too. Cockers are generally greedy little dogs, you’ll likely find his appetite increases as he settles in.

If you want to stick with a kibble diet, I would always recommend adding hydration. Warm water, bone broth, goats milk, de-caff green tea, coconut water etc - not all at the same time, of course. This will help with palatability as well as providing the much needed moisture a dry diet lacks.
