Puppy vaccination intervals

Hi all hoping for some knowledge sharing! Picking up a puppy on Friday. Puppy had first vaccinations on Monday (3 days ago). I’ve booked a vet check, but on booking the receptionist was very clear (repeated it 3 times) that the second vaccination must be EXACTLY 4 weeks from the first. Exactly 4 weeks is a bank holiday and vets are closed…… do I need to stress about this or is 2 days early or one day late really an issue? I’ll ask at the vet check but checking with the receptionist yesterday was unhelpful for us both!

Thanks in advance….

Our vet did it a bit early. A day or so I think.

4-6 weeks would be ok, you can’t do it any earlier than 4 weeks if lepto 4 vaccine.

Some vets will split out the distemper/hepatitis/parvo part and do that after 2 weeks if you are anxious to get the puppy covered for those a bit earlier, as long as puppy is old enough.

A lot of vets now do a 3rd one at 16weeks of age to catch the minority of puppies who aren’t covered after two vaccines due to persistence of antibodies they got from their mum.

It’s Nobivac L4 that she has had and will have. I guess @Sageyboots im hoping one day late will be ok. I’ll ask about the split out, thank you. Currently wondering how to juggle a lively older dog and the pup but I expect it’ll work out…..

I actually work at a vets and came across this scenario recently. The l4 does have to be given at exactly 4 weeks. I think the owner of the puppy is coming in the day after BH, and knows it will be off licence. But in reality, will probably be ok being a day late.

When first launched the advice to vets giving L4 was two doses 4 weeks apart plus or minus 3 days so this is what we use in our clinic.
