Best dirt trapping mats

Hello, we have 2 dogs and with the relentless rain they are constantly bringing mud into the house from our garden. I've seen dirt/mud mats advertised. Does anyone know if they work and have any recommendations?

You need a decent high pile otherwise they're useless IMO. I like the muddy mats - chenille microfibre loop (and my pup loves sitting on it!)

Ours aren't great - would love people's recommendations too.

personally i use old towels (big bath sized ones), mainly because they are so easy to wash and dry.

I have been wondering about getting a ruggable mat, the washable ones, as a more attractive option to the towels we put down at the moment. But they are expensive. And maybe not as effective as towels.

The name of them eludes me but they are cotton pile and washable from dunelm and cost about £20 for a large one, they really do absorb the water and trap dirt as you walk in.
