Distract me while I’m waiting at the vets

Ddog is 9, and had a period today where she was limping, then after a few minutes it looked like her whole back end had stopped working, she couldn’t lift herself up at all in the back 2 legs
I called the vets, they squeezed me in and now I’m here waiting, and of course Ddog is now walking around like normal!
I feel a bit silly but I want them to check her anyway as there is obviously something wrong

Anyone any experience with this? All the worst case scenarios are currently playing in my head so if anyone has any positive experiences I’d really appreciate, I’m going to be waiting a while I think

What sort of dog? I had a JRT with an unusually long back who did this once. She was fine, I see my to remember it “clicked” back into place after she had some muscle relaxant.

She’s a Cavalier King Charles
Thats interesting @devildeepbluesea so was it dislocated?

I had this once and it started improving in vets, the naughty lab had eaten cannabis in the park....

SugarMitts · 02/04/2024 16:19

@Sadsadworld oh god that made me laugh, that is a very naughty lab!

Probably a very happy lab 😂

Hope your pupster is ok OP

devildeepbluesea · 02/04/2024 17:31

@SugarMitts yes, something like that. I think she “put her back out” as we’d say if she were human.

Churchview · 02/04/2024 17:45

You've definitely done the right thing taking her in to get her checked out. I hope you don't have to wait too long and that your pupper is ok.

My cockapoo had this, was a blocked anal gland!

What was the outcome op? My 9 year old Ddog did similar on the beach today. We’ve brought her back and resting to see what happens as no yelping or apparent pain when we feel her legs or back.
