Female being spayed

Hi
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. We recently had our Female dog spayed, before she was done she was pretty calm and mature. Her and our other dog would play nicely now and then.

However since she's been spayed she's turned into an absolute lunatic, she jumps around all the furniture, digs up the garden, pulls on the lead and wants to chase everything in sight. Runs across all the outdoor furniture leaping from one thing to another. It's like we've regressed back into puppy hood. It's starting to piss our other dog off and he's getting huffy and snappy, because she leaps on him when he's trying to relax. She will also roll across the sofa onto him, or barges him out the way if he's sat with us. Non of this behaviour was present before the operation. Unless its just coincidence?

There's a lot of different arguments about the behavioural impacts of bitch spaying, if I were you I'd skip wading through it and contacting your vet to see if they can shed any light. Our girl became quite licky after spay but energy levels stayed roughly the same.

It is a semi-traumatic op for them I think though. Maybe that could be part of it? Or she's been cooped up a lot during post-op and has a lot of excess energy? I'd try upping the walks or running her at a dog field and seeing if she can burn it off or not, then contact vet.

How old is she?

She was spayed in December. So we'll out of rest stage, she gets walked every day and a field run every weekend. She's just become a bit loopy. We had to get her spayed due to our male dog even though he was castrated.

She's nearly 3 so young but she was a very well grounded dog before this. I will discuss it at her appointment next week. But it's unlikely they will be concerned.

My parents lab went a bit nuts after being spayed. She calmed down again after a few months. Lovely dog now.
