Dog Car Harness

Considering buying a dog car harness and wondering whether anyone can recommend any.

Theres a few which have been car crash tested, but they are expensive , and much more than a cheaper harness or short clip lead.

Are they worth it, and if so, which one?

The Kurgo Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Harnesses are crash tested and aren't super expensive, less than £40 if I remember correctly.

We had one for our pup when younger, it was a bit fiddly, not helped by pup wriggliness. We have a mimsafe crate these days

Yeah after having dogs for years in the boot . We tried one with our yr old dog when she was a pup , persisted for about a year and going back to travelling in the boot . Ours just tied herself in knots, which meant lots of pulling over to sort her out .That's our experience with them anyway

Our 18 month old has been spooked and we’re having trouble getting him in the boot.

i have been training him, getting him to go in and out of the front and back seats, and into the boot.

He has got over his fright of the car and will go in. However, he jumps straight out of the boot, but seems to be happier to sit in the back seat. I’m thinking maybe that’s the way forward, although would prefer him in the boot.

Hence wanting a decent car harness that will stop him trying to get to be driving, but will keep him safe and secure.
