I have a 7 yo GSD who can sleep in until 12pm. Rarely do but was very grateful for this when I had Covid last month.

DW he got rewarded for his easy going- ness with 15 mins walk x2 I wasn’t certain I would survive.

4.30 am 😩
No matter what time he goes to bed he's got a built in alarm clock!

DdyDaisyDaresYou · 08/02/2024 17:53

5pm 😆

With a full bladder!!

15yo

Vicliz24 · 08/02/2024 17:55

I've got a whippet on days like today I have to force him outside 😂

CadoAvo · 08/02/2024 17:58

Got an 11ish year old rescue staffy who's always loved a long lie. Last week I was off sick and slept till 1pm and she didn't bother me although I did feel bad for her. She's always had a steel bladder.

She usually gets breakfast between 8-9am, and then she will go back to bed (our bed) and lie there until noon sometimes.

Regardless of whether she has breakfast at 7am or 1pm she will be demanding dinner at 7pm ☺️

Missingmyusername · 08/02/2024 18:27

About 8am. He’s 13 now, if he hears anyone moving about he will ask as early as 6am 🤣(Labrador).

LutonBeds · 08/02/2024 18:30

Mine slept with me until 9am yesterday. Went downstairs with me while I had breakfast then demanded we went back to bed so he could have a longer snooze 🤣

tizwozliz · 08/02/2024 18:54

The nearly 3 year old would stay in bed until we got up. The 10 month old will manage until 8 if we're lucky. Both are happy to go back to bed after food and toileting.

Riverlee · 08/02/2024 18:57

usually 7-8am. Goes to sleep around 6.30pm.

Neriah · 08/02/2024 18:58

He sleeps? I thought that was a myth...

8 year old Border Collie....

Hellocatshome · 08/02/2024 18:58

My Rommie Rescue sleeps until we get up even if thats past 11am some weekends. Apart from when we get up at 5am to take DS to swim training when he just opens his eyes, rolls over and goes back to sleep.

turkeymuffin · 08/02/2024 18:59

This makes me feel better! I thought we were being lazy owners

Ours sleeps in utility room. Stays in her bed no issue until she hears someone in the kitchen. Could be 6am or could be 10am.

isthismylifenow · 08/02/2024 14:12

7am. That is breakfast time.

Obviously he's a Labrador 😃

This made me laugh, yes I have a lab too!

DiscoBeat · 08/02/2024 20:53

Ours is quite chilled. He's usually still snoozing/half awake when we come down at 7am but it's half term next week and we have teenagers so we'll probably not venture down before 9 (and he'll still be snoozing!)

thistimelastweek · 08/02/2024 21:01

9ish which means I'm still in bed and need reminding that breakfast is way overdue.
She might then go straight back to bed for another hour or so.

catwithflowers · 08/02/2024 21:09

Wow! I thought we were lucky with our 1 year old retriever pup who regularly sleeps in til about 9am then goes out for a wee and breakfast. His last wee is usually around 8 (totally his choice, multiple offers to go in the garden until about 10.30pm)

I, on the other hand, am up several times through the night and don't know how he does it 😂

liveforsummer · 08/02/2024 21:34

I have a JRT. She'll sleep and stay in bed as long as I do which, due to mixed work hours could be well in to the day. In nice weather she'll get up when I do but on cold wet days she'll hide in the hope I forget she exists. B glad I don't have one that wants to be up and out at the crack of Dawn

hby9628 · 08/02/2024 21:36

Mine will sleep as long as we do. Perfect! He's terribly lazy when he has us all around but also loves a good walk.

BarrelOfOtters · 08/02/2024 21:38

Ours reckons her last wee of the night is about 8pm, though we usually kick her out again grumbling at 10pm…..and she’ll happily lie in till noon if circumstances allow.

mdinbc · 08/02/2024 21:42

Our Aussie shepherd gets up with me around 6:00, and on weekends she'll get up with DH since he's up first, usually around 8:00.

She's always ready to roll when we are!

weegiemum · 08/02/2024 21:48

I have a labradoodle, he's 1/4 lab and 3/4 poodle. He goes out around 9 pm then sleeps in the lounge. Through the week dh lets him out about 8 then he comes and lies on the bed with me and doesn't get up till lunchtime.

At the weekend he'll happily lie in till 10 or 11. He's 7 years old and has been like this since he stopped sleeping in the crate at about 18 months.

Stevie77 · 08/02/2024 21:55

Mine is a sleepbear. Cockapoo, 3 yo. Takes herself to her bed (in our bedroom) very early, around 8pm. Sometimes surfaces to go out again at around 23:00ish. At weekends can still be asleep at 10:30am.

bassetsarebest · 08/02/2024 22:00

Our basset hound sleeps on our bed under the duvet. She’d stay there all day if she could. We have to wake her up for walks but as soon as we’re outside she’s a different dog and full of energy!

Tulipvase · 08/02/2024 22:11

Breakfast and Open dog flap at 0730. Will go back to bed at the weekend, humans that is. I don’t know how long she’d go, she’s a lab, so loves food but she sleeps downstairs and doesn’t bark, so I don’t know what she’d do if we we didn’t get up at the normal time. During the week I’m downstairs at 0630 and she only comes into the kitchen if she hears the cheese wrapper.

hattie43 · 08/02/2024 22:22

Mine sleep on the bed and get up when I do .

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 08/02/2024 22:25

2 collies will get up when we get up. I am always up before DP and they come down with me for breakfast then go back to bed. If its raining they won't step foot outside till they really can't hold it any longer. Never met any lazier dogs
