Flea advice

Today I found a flea on my 6 year old Jack Russel. She’s always been regularly flea treated and wormed however as far as I’m aware she’s never actually had fleas.

cue Christmas and had family to visit including a relative who I know has been battling a flea problem with her cats, I assume maybe they’ve been brought in on clothing 🫣🫣

I had some advantage in the cupboard so I used that tonight. Previously I had been using advocate from the vets but haven’t used that for a while.

I washed her bedding today

I will shower and shampoo her tomorrow

I will vacuum the whole house tomorrow which isn’t unusual for me anyway

I will also vacuum the sofa then wash any blankets she sleeps on

anything else to suggest? What kind of spray is good?

Proper meds from vet. Spray from Pets at Home. About 18 quid.. For tonight lots of shallow bowls of hot Fairy water. Fleas love a bubble bath..

@Santaisscouringindeedfornewjob thank you, will have to wait until Tuesday for ordering from vets now 🫣I will take a drive over to pets at home tomorrow and great idea about the fairy!

I am hoping the problem is minimal. I know they can multiply pretty fast though!

there goes my new years relaxing weekend 😂

My vet said he never sees dogs with dog fleas, only dogs with cat fleas, so I bet you are right about the source.

Indorex is the spray you want.

@muddyford yes I’ve heard the same and never realised that there was cat and dog fleas.. My dog is 6 and never had them before now. I know my parents dog has had them however they also have cats who roam. My MIL only has dogs and never had fleas.
