Dog refusing to walk!

Feel like this is a bit of a daft question but here goes....we have a small dog who usually gets walked for half an hour twice a day. We have guests visiting with their puppy and the two dogs have been playing non-stop. Our dog is tired out I think and is now refusing to walk. Would you not force the issue as long as he has access to the garden for the toilet? Feel guilty that he's going without exercise.

Could he be in pain? How old is he?

He's only two, hopefully that's not the case. He is prone to be lazy, especially if the weather's bad.

Yeah if he’s tired don’t force him. He can only communicate with you in certain ways :)

He'll be fine without a walk for a day or two, don't worry!

I would give him a few lazy days.

If I had a few days full on I would also need a rest.

Listen to what he is telling you. Sometimes I can see that mine just isn't feeling into a walk and I tend to make it short one.

Mine has also had many enforced rest days due to medical issues and it isn't really a big problem long term.

He's not going without exercise really as he's been playing with the puppy presumably running around.
He's also been exercising his brain, learning to play and being stimulated by other animals and people. He'll be fine without a walk.

Ok thanks everyone, just wanted the reassurance.
