I came downstairs this afternoon (WFH) to check on the dog and tell him that I'd walk him in half an hour. In EXACTLY half an hour he came upstairs to my office to check I hadn't forgotten, then led me downstairs to the cupboard where his lead and harness is kept! ♥️ him, he's so clever 😂

I got my dog a Christmas grinch toy which he’s obsessed with. My son (10) isn’t well and was crying. He came up and nudged him then gave him the grinch ❤️

I’m being harsh - she is very clever and did stand pointing herself at the back door just before so she could go out for business. She’s still little so I am impressed. 🐶

Greeted me at the front door with a massive tail wag and happy look on his face. I usually work from home, but have been out all day today. OH was here so dog wasn’t alone, but he was uncharacteristically pleased to see me (he is usually a bit reserved).

I was pleased to be home anyway, but this made it extra good.

Today?

Absolutely nothing! She's been a proper little madam, plus ate something unidentified and crunchy during walkies at dusk, and withdrew co-operation for both brushing and toothbrushing.

Good job she's cute by definition though. Happily dozing next to me

I have a 5 yr old boisterous male Jack Russell and a very placid 9 yr old female spaniel.

Today the spaniel showed signs of wanting to play (rare occasion) and the Jack Russell 'toned down' his play fighting so that he wouldn't hurt her ( he is usually quite rough with his brother who is also 5).

I thought it was very sweet of him, he is usually such a little shit ( he is my baby though)

Pulled the cable out of my DHs laptop and dropped it in the shredder ..... which was on! OOPs!
Need a new cable now.

DD11 came home from school today a bit stressed (first term of secondary, lots of friendship dramas) and dog decided he needed to be on Protection Duty so snuggled up with her ❤️❤️

Walked on the polished concrete floor for the first time in ages today - he slipped once and has never forgotten, so usually we have to lay down runners everywhere

But today after his walk he was so tired that he came in, walked across the kitchen and got on his armchair without making any fuss!

She was so tired when I got home she only made it half way down the stairs to see me before going back and lying in her spot on my her bed waiting for me to come up for a cuddle. She’s currently snoozing on my foot!

Two of mine had a sneaky rummage through the Christmas shopping, found their new toys and started playing together so nicely I couldn't even be annoyed.

My dog does too many cute things.

My favourite things she does every day though is wipe/dry her own feet on the doormat every time she's been outside.

Paws at my dressing gown belt when she wants to sleep, she expects me to open it up so she can curl up inside then have me wrap it round her.

She also takes her treat into the living room but will refuse to eat it until I come in and sit down with my cuppa/biscuits.

Every morning, without fail, our fab dog sits at the bottom of our stairs as I sit on my stair lift. She gets more and more exited as I get near the bottom of the stairs.

Once I'm there she dances around my walker until I get to my chair. Where I give her the smallest treat (she's a very small Jack Russell) you can imagine.

It starts my day (hers started much earlier after her walk and breakfast) in a very smiley way 😁

I hurt my back and she has been following me around all day like she knows I'm not right. Dog are so clever.

He has a bit of a routine when I come home now. He gets up on the sofa and pokes his head out of the living room curtains to see me coming up the path (he never barks when it's one of the family but always would if it's a delivery). Then he runs off to lie on his bed so he can get tummy rubs. He used to jump up and run around like a loon but for some reason he's figured out that going to lie down gets you more attention.
