Toys for working cocker spaniel

I have an almost 2 yr old WCS, who can destroy toys within minutes ๐Ÿ™„. If itโ€™s a soft toy, he enjoys getting all the stuffing out. If it has a squeaker, heโ€™ll rip it apart until heโ€™s got it out. Likewise with crinkles.
There must be a toy out there which he canโ€™t destroy?!

If he is one for ripping out the stuffing and not eating it, stuff all the bits of squirrel in a Hol-ee Roller https://www.viovet.co.uk/JW-Pet-Hol-ee-Roller-Dog-Toy/c4640/

My dog loves ripping out squeakers, this chicken has the squeaker in an impossible to get out place (deep down its throat) and lasted the best part of a year Shock

Get a canvas dummy and teach him to retrieve it. That will help satisfy his natural behavioural instincts and is a more productive way of him "playing".

Wow! This sounds like what we need!

Honestly? I buy cheap soft toys from charity shops and let him have at it

TheSproutOfWrath · 02/12/2023 13:58

I have a box in the kitchen where I put all the cardboard. I let him loose with it every day. Best toy ever in his eyes.

Have you tried latexy type toys? My 2 year old WCS doesnโ€™t tend to destroy those. Heโ€™s now better with soft toys but you have to keep a close eye if heโ€™s got one in a certain mood because theyโ€™ll lose an arm!

We have some form of rubber bones with spikes on them that he chews away at, also thereโ€™s a kong ring he adores, and weirdly a minion teddy and a Pokรฉmon teddy he hasnโ€™t been able to get the stuffing out of!! (Very odd!!)
