Cockapoo ear irritation or infection?

Hi all, I have a one year old Cockapoo girl. She’s not really had any health issues at all but following a run and roll around in a muddy field this morning with her dog group friends, she’s got an irritated ear; the inside is looking a bit red and gunky, and she has been shaking her head and scratching at it intermittently. I think she’s probably got a bit of mud or something lodged in her ear. We’ll get her to the vets tomorrow (she seems happily asleep now). Has this happened to anyone else? Just wondering what the vet is likely to say/do to help…

Very common in cockapoo's.
Once she has seen the vet, I would routinely clean/wipe her ears to prevent the problem recurring.

As above, common in cockapoos. My parents one gets ear issues a lot.

As above, you really need to clean their ears regularly as they’re very prone to infections.

She could also have a grass seed or something stuck in there.

Very common in my Cockapoo. Give it a clean yourself, but also get it checked with vet.

Thanks all, yes we do try to keep the ears clean - but I will see what the vet recommends later today.
