Ddog staring absently

My beloved ddog turns 11 soon. Last year he had a period of illness which the vet said was "neurological". We're not sure if it was a stroke or a seizure or something along those lines. Anyway he seemed to improve after a few weeks and was back to his usual self. Just recently though I've noticed him staring absently and he doesn't respond to his name. He looks completely blank.

Should I be concerned about this or just accept that he's ageing and that might be part of it? He's okay in terms of everything else, eating, drinking, going to the toilet as normal. Just these periods of looking absent.

Anybody else experienced this with their dog?

It could be the start of dementia - I'd get him back to the vet.

How is his hearing?

Could also be a seizure. He does need to be checked over by a vet
