How many poops?

Adopted a rescue hound 4 months ago... he was being fed Butchers wet and Harrington dry... so I've kept him on that (1/3 tin of wet and 2x cup dry which includes the 1x dry cup in his Kong) He also gets a bit of carrot

However just recently, he's pooping 7, 8, 9 times a day (and mostly substantial!), and he's fairly lean, so I feel the food is literally just going straight through

I know this isn't right, and I'll phone the vet on Monday. But tonight/tomorrow would you just feed the dry food to see if that makes a difference in volume? Just thinking cut out a food type and see if that makes a difference?

Any advice please, as still new to this!

Thank you 🙏

Personally, I wouldn't change anything with his diet until he's seen the vet, as you want them to have a clear picture of what's going on - they may also require a stool sample.

Is he fully up to date on his worming treatment?

What type of hound, how old is he?

Some of the HPR dogs can be really skinny until they are full grown and totally through adolescence, which may be when they are two or three or maybe nearly four.

It does sound like a lot of poo, but as margo says, don't change anything until you have been to a vet.

That sounds excessive. Agree with PP that nothing should change until the vet has opined.
