I've absolutely no problem going out getting filthy and wet, but really struggling with the aftermath in my house! We live in a bog standard 2 up 2 down so it is straight into the small hall via the front door or kitchen via the back.

I've trained DoodleDog to wait on a mat/towel by the door to have his paws wiped (& will sometimes take up straight up for a shower if he's really dirty ) but he like to
Go in & out of the garden and I really need some decent door mats & hall runners that actually absorb some of the moisture and stop my house looking constantly filthy.

Marvel mats and runners from Dunelm are great. I’ve got several. They aren’t expensive, wash well and come in loads of colours.

We have hug rugs which are good at absorbing wet and muddy foot and paw prints. You can also chuck them in the washing machine.

Ah, the perennial winter question.
Dog is 6 and I haven't found a solution yet.

Looking at my ebay history I got a HugRug last November. It was okay but didn't seem any better than the Dunelm ones I've had before.
I since got a hardbacked mat that has been down this year - but isn't washable, and doesn't absorb wetness. But good for wiping feet and is large.
I'd forgotten I've got the HugRug, maybe I'll try it again now it's muddy again.
