I like the Buster body suits (not Easy Go ones). You should allow about 10 days for recovery (lead walks only, no jumping up) but she should be recovered from anaesthetic fully within 24 hours. I’d expect vet to provide pain relief for the first few days - we do three days as standard then do a recheck.

Our spay included a surgery suit but we bought a spare too of the same brand - MPS

Our girl left the vet in an MPS suit and we bought another one on Amazon.

She was subdued for about 12 hours after the op and then back to crazy. Lead walks for about 5 days was all she could tolerate and then we gave up.

She healed quickly but she has developed an increase in appetite which took me by surprise as it happened immediately after the op.

We did keyhole which is less invasive and reduced the recovery time which was really quick and easy but did cost more. Imo was worth it. Used a pet inflatable donut for the neck and made a body suit out of an old vest top to stop her licking the incision.

Our local vet didn't do keyhole but was easy to book into a nearish vets4pets who will do it without expecting the dog to be moved permanently to them. They were amazing and did follow up to check everything was OK.

It isn’t key hole as also repairing a hernia

Hope it goes well and there is a smooth and fast recovery x

Our vet provided a suit, but it was a PITA as you had to undo it for the dog to pee - I’d bought one of these as a spare, and just ended up using that as it worked better.

I just used a baby vest on my 5kg dog when she was spayed, pinned with a nappy pin at the sides rather than doing up the domes underneath. Worked perfectly and much cheaper!

She doesn't handle anaesthesia very well so she was groggy for longer than normal, but otherwise a very simple recovery. Flexi-lead walks for about 10 days.

We brought a cheaper one of Amazon which was slightly too big, so a Buster one from the vets. The buster one was really good.

i recommend two as well, for when they accidentally wee in it.

My dog was neutered rather than sprayed which I think is an easier op. However, he was very clingy for the first 48:hours (looked stoned), cried alot and always wanted either my dh or me with him. We slept downstairs with him for two nights. After that, he slowly recovered. It was during that late hot weather, so that kept him subdued as well.
