Metal plate in cremation.

My dog had TPLO surgery on his leg when his cruciate ligament went. I would like to keep the plate when he goes.

Just want to ask if the metal plate can survive the heat in cremation?

Don't know if they melt but it will be separate to the ash.

They do survive - mine was a TTA component but same principle. I got a call from the crematorium to ask if I wanted to keep the metal they’d found. I hadn’t thought to pre warn them! It was returned in a paper envelope, in the same box as the ashes.

A few years back I went to an open day at a relatively newly opened crematorium. It was actually a really interesting tour! We were shown the storage containers where metal implants were kept as they sent them to hospitals in developing counties to see if they could be recycled for re use in any way.
