Welly boot wearers what socks do you wear?

It’s wellie boots time again on the dog walks. But I need decent socks that will keep my feet warm, but most importantly not slip down and ruckle up under my feet! There’s nothing more annoying than having to stop, take my wellie off, and sort out my socks!
I would preferably like something knee length now it’s getting chillier, or at least calf length. Any suggestions?

I find ski socks the best, as they are designed to go under long boots without taking up too much space in the boot, or fall down.

I wear Tesco's normal length thermal socks that come just under my calf.

I bought them last winter and they're really warm.

My wellies have fleecy lining which does mean my socks don't slip down though.

They took me all through last winter and I was lovely and warm.

I’ve just bought some Grubboots and it was cheaper to buy their socks and get free p&p than pay for delivery iyswim.
They are really good socks (and boots) but at £6.50 not cheap. Saying that, I might get another pair or two or ask DH to get them for me for Christmas.

Good suggestions! I don’t mind paying a bit more because I won’t need loads of pairs, probably 2 or 3 will do.

If you have the funds to spare and want to invest in good wellies then you need to look at neoprene. Your feet will never be cold again and no need for thick socks. I have some for dog walking and would never go back.

These stay on fine. If you fiddle with the colour you can find them more cheaply.

I see what you mean, but it's not just the thickness its the not slipping down.

That's the good thing with neoprene, you can wear normal ankle socks and they don't budge because the lining of the boots is grippy.

Neoprene boots are your friend. Always warm no matter the socks 👌
