Ouch! Is a surgical boot a possibility? Or just a sock? We used a sock with veterinary tape to hold it on when DDog ripped a claw 🤢

That looks really nasty - I agree with covering it up - a sock taped on could work, or vet wrap.

Is that a Springer btw? Paw and ticks look almost identical to mine 😂🥰

We're using a boot and sock but vets is encouraging as much air as possible too

Ooh, that looks sore 😢. Poor wee lamb.

I think I read somewhere that paw pads take a long time to heal because they repair from the inside out, unlike other wounds. My friend's dog cut his pad on a broken bottle and I'm sure it took about 10 weeks to heal.

I'm not surprised she's limping though. Did the vet suggest anything like a non-adhesive dressing taped to it before she has the sock on, to protect it a bit? And does she have painkillers? It must be so painful 😔 Please give her a gentle hug from me.

Ew. Equally difficult breed to keep calm when they’re meant to be healing! Have you tried Vaseline to keep it clean and soften the edges while it’s healing and packing with either manuka honey or treacle overnight with a dressing? Haven’t used any of the above on a dog but they’ve all worked for me with horses.
