3 year old whippet sometimes poos in his sleep

Not really regularly, but probably every 2 months, our 3 year old whippet poos in his sleep. It's a fully formed poo. He seems to have absolutely no awareness that he has done it, and doesn't wake up.

He doesn't have any other issues with his bowels that I notice

Should I take him to the vet even though it's not a regular occurrence?

Asking now as it's just happened again - in my bed 🤮

Could you adjust the timing of his last meal of the day? May help

Yes, he has his dinner at about 5pm. He usually poos straight after his meal, and before we go up to bed, he goes outside for the toilet too

Vets. It's not normal and could be a sign of a physical issue.

I would want a Vetcheck. I would be worried about nerve issues possibly in his back
