Male or female golden retriever?

Male or female? Any differences between the two other than size?

I have a male and had a male before him. Only reason was I didn't want the bother of a female going into season. Both dogs have been / are lovely. Stubborn as a mule at times but generally well behaved and very loving.
You can have a difference in size in dogs of the same sex. I hadn't realised that mine was particularly big until we met another male of the same age. He was slighter built compared to mine who has broad shoulders, big head and paws. Doesn't stop him sitting on me though - especially when he's feeling poorly!

Have had both and both lovely! Some say boys take longer to mature than girls but seems to depend on the dog! Just a lovely breed, can't go wrong really. My girl was certainly smaller and more portable though.
