I have one Ddog and live in a very small open plant house which is fully carpeted. How can I protect my carpet when ddog comes in? I'm finding it v stressful especially when it's raining out as if I don't stop ddog at the door he just runs in and out and leaves muddy paw prints everywhere. Any suggestions?

Close the door and wipe his paws before he's allowed in the house.

I lay fleece blankets down

I have a long washable runner from the back door, and make them stop and wipe their paws on it before running off

I’d have some mats/towels down near the door to catch the worst of it.

Make sure you have drying mitts or towel in the doorway ready for when you get back from walks, and a drying coat for if it’s been raining so that they’re not laying directly on the carpet with wet fur.

We have a shower head attached to the outdoor tap to shower paws off before coming in so that’s it’s just water and not mud that comes into the house. You can get a mud daddy or similar if you don’t have an outside tap.

I leave a towel by the door to wipe him down but you do have to accept a certain amount of mud and extra cleaning especially at this time of year!

Large blanket or towel on the floor by the door. A 2nd towel at the ready to wipe DDog down before entering the house.

I have a very large mat and have trained a spin that the dog does when she comes in on it. It's not full proof but it does get the worst off before she hits a carpeted area.
