Very specific name ideas

I will preface this by saying I know that my 'requirements' are a little odd, I would consider it some kind of OCD, but I wouldn't want to undermine anyone with OCD.

Over my life time I have had a lot of pets, it has become some kind of family goal, that by the end of our lives we will have had a pet for every letter of the alphabet.

The letters we have left are A, E, F, Q, U, V, X.

My dogs (past and present) initials currently spell out BOW so a letter that extends this to another word like BOWS would be acceptable despite breaking the alphabet rule.

Or, our dog's name is a Disney main character, so another Disney main character would be OK, or another Tom Hanks character.

I have googled and not come up with an awful lot other than Sully. I would appreciate any input or creativity as I am drawing a blank.

Allen (tom hanks in splash) or Andrew (tom hanks in Philadelphia)
Elsa or Esmeralda for Disney characters beginning with E

edenhills · 11/09/2023 08:40

Or Andy for toy story character that starts with a A

peanutbuttertoasty · 11/09/2023 08:48

Ariel, Flounder, Ursula, Aurora, Aladdin, Eeyore Disney characters

ErrolTheDragon · 11/09/2023 08:53

What sort of dog will the new one be, and is it male or female?

Sorry should have said male, and a Beagle.

I wouldn't say OCD but I'd guess at ASD for that level of thinking and precision OP!
I'm going for unused letters - I'm assuming though that it doesn't have to be Disney or Tom Hanks characters?

For the tricky letters I think Victor is a great name for a pet - or Vinnie perhaps. Q is really hard - I think I'd go Queenie and for X I'd have to go Xena (warrior princess). For U I'd go crazy and have Ulysses.

F is much easier, Freddie, Felix, Fuzzy, Fluffy, Fang, Fido, Fozzie, Fidget, Farley, Fergus etc

For E there's Earnest, Eddie, Enzo, Ebony, Ellie, Elvis etc

A pet names - Alfie, Archie, Arnie, Ace, Atticus, Apollo (Tom Hanks link!)

Funny you should say that, our daughter has ASD. But this is maybe my only 'weird' thing, it really grinds away at me. It was never done on purpose but with so few letters left, now it bugs me.

The Disney thing doesn't have to apply, only our current dog is a Disney character, the previous 2 were not, although having said that they were pretty common names and I'm sure they will have cropped up in Disney somewhere.

I'm adding all these to my list.

I am going with the initial letter rather than Disney, as I don't know much about the more recent Disney characters.
I like Alfie, Elton, Eddie, Uxbridge, Quinn, Fred or Victor for a male Beagle.

sugarplumfairy28 · 11/09/2023 09:57

Uxbridge - that is so regal!

This does not completely follow your rules, but I'm wondering if it's close enough to the theme to be worth considering.

I would all the dog Xavier; Xav or Xavvie if you want a shorter version to yell across a park. You could also give the dog a full 3 part name that spells out X-A-V (all of which are on your list of still to be used).

X-Men is Marvell rather than Disney, but does have that cinematic tie-in

DailyDriver · 11/09/2023 10:53

To spell out BOWL and a Disney character - Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast

DailyDriver · 11/09/2023 10:57

Lenny from Toy Story would also be an option

Our son is very much in favour of anything marvel related, and has come up with some really outlandish ideas, but DH isn't keen. I have suggested Xavier or Xander for an X but both got down voted.

I don't know many Disney characters but:

Aesop
Erland
Flavian
Quentin
Umberto
Vittorio
Xenon

GoodOldEmmaNess · 11/09/2023 13:26

If you wanted another Toy Story name (to go with what I'm guessing is the exisiting one) you could go with Etch (the name of the etch-a-stetch character), which fits the requirement for an E name. Or you could go with Rex (the dinosaur), which is of course an ace dog name.
I'd go with Etch. The more I think of it the more I wish it was my dog's name.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 11/09/2023 13:27

Imagine the possibilities:
'Fetch, Etch!'
'Have you got an itch, Etch?'

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 11/09/2023 13:40

BOWL

Lewis from Meet the Robinsons

Our dog is called Woody, so the obvious name would be Buzz, but we already had a Pleco named Buzz. Rex would be great, but we have a Bengal called Rex (Felis Rex), so I feel we are a bit Toy Storyed out lol.

I'd go for Eddie the (B)eagle :)

muddyford · 11/09/2023 15:24

Nearly called my dog Quercus, Latin for oak.

similarminimer · 11/09/2023 15:27

Quink

Snittler · 11/09/2023 15:38

I quite like Etch 😂

I’d quite like to use X as XBOW is like crossbow.

There is a Xyla in Doc McStuffins so that’s a Disney link, but does feel more like a girls name. Xyler, maybe?!

But I’d prioritise the missing letters as that’s an ongoing goal rather than linking in with current names.

To keep the Tom Hanks theme:
Finch
Forrest
Viktor
Fox (You’ve Got Mail)
Edgecomb

Ha XBOW, I quite like that, my son should too seeing as he is a skilled archer.

I think you are right I would like to focus on the missing letters, some are easier with girls I think like Queenie for example, Violet, or Xena.

I really like Forrest which is 2 birds, or Elvis, I think a Beagle cold totally pull off Elvis.

We had a Flynn (after Flynn Rider) as we wanted a Disney related dog name.

Like other pp's I thought of Apollo and Viktor for Tom Hanks references.

TheGirlWhoLived · 12/09/2023 17:25

Forrest would be my definite choice, Tom Hanks and an F name. Also goes with ‘Woody’ (forest and wood)
