Coping in this heat

My Golden retriever is struggling in this heat.

He is lying on a cold tiled floor in front of a fan but it's 26.5 inside the house.

Any advice, still waiting for the thunder and colder air here.

I was just about to post as i'm at a loss with my two. They just won't eat in this heat and one of them has some bad gastro issues which are made worse by not eating. Poor things had S&D today in this heat. Really awful. No advice - just solidarity and waiting for the storms with you!

Although actually - if he will tolerate it put a cold wet towel over him. One of mine will let me and it makes a huge difference to their body temp if you've not tried it

It should be cooler by tomorrow.

You could put ice cubes in his water bowl & fill a hot water bottle with very cold water with a few ice cubes in for him to lie on.
For the diarrhoea I find it always handy to keep a tube of this in the cupboard, always seems to clear it up.

Better to get the dog to lie on the wet towel (or a cooling mat) rather than put it over him - that can trap the heat in.
