Sneezing blood

My dog just sneezed blood, several times. I'm v worried. Background is he's had a lump on his head for a couple of weeks. Took him to the vet and they took some samples - they were all bloody not clear and the vet appeared v worried. We are still awaiting the results. I'm now terrified that this is linked and a v bad sign. Any ideas of what it could be? He's 12 and otherwise v fit and healthy

I assume they checked for things like grass seeds?

She checked there was no bite mark or injury and said it could be a haematoma or obvs something worse. No mention of grass seeds

Grass seeds are everywhere at the moment and causing a lot of problems with dogs - especially in ears, between paw pads and up noses, so hopefully she did have a proper look when checking for injury.

It’s been a bad year for grass seeds and that would be my first thought. I know two people who have lost dogs due to grass seeds and one that had an operation and one that didn’t appear to be grass seed related (massive lump ) but was and was very ill and had an operation.

Yes we will go back tomorrow. Never thought of grass seeds as he's never had any issues with them ever (jack russell with v short coat and covered ears) but will ask her to check

An update - he was sedated today, they xrayed put a scope up his nose and took biopsies of his lump. They think it's hemagiosarcoma - but awaiting results. Devastating.

Sorry you're going through that stress and anxiety OP, when will you have the results?
How is your boy at the moment?

Probably not until next week, but the prognosis isn't looking good either way. My poor boy
