Hello, I’m hoping someone can help. Maybe some advice or tips etc…

We have had our puppy since Feb and he has never been left alone. My dh is off with long term at the moment so is with output all odds the time.

Initially this was great! As he’s become very well trained, regular stimulation and exercise… plus the toilet training was a doddle.

However… puppy has grown such an attachment to dh that is he goes out and I, or either of dc stay with puppy he will whine and peace and basically sit on the sofa staring out of the window until dh comes home!

He does eventually settle with the whining but will still pace and stare out the window.

It’s funny because if I take puppy out for a walk on my own he is totally fine! But if dh comes with me, then walks away out of sight such as going in to a shop then puppy goes all whiny and fixating on locating dh again.

Does anyone have any advice?!

I work out of the house, but was home for the whole school holidays so was with him every day. I interact, play, feed, walk him.

But he just is so obsessed with dh!… He even humps him quite regularly, which obviously dh shuts down! but he doesn’t hump anyone else.
