Cut Paw Pad

Our dog cut her paw pad last week. It's a straight slice but not deep according to our Vet and they advised not to stitch as it would require them to make the cut bigger than what it is. So we're bandaging every couple of days and making sure it's kept dry. We can see the wound beginning to heal but it still looks quite open. Assuming these things heal from the inside outwards. Just wondering if there was any advice on how long we need to keep redressing for (I understand bandadging longer term can cause more issues than the cut itself) and how long can these things take to heal.

Thanks in advance

Difficult. Mine sliced his back pad (his "brake pad" in two. We tried staples, which burst, then padded bandages.

In the end he had to have a GA and they cauterised it - it was a nightmare.

Try to keep him off it as much as possible (difficult) and definitely don't let him lick - it will need to granulate.
