Puppy Blanket - When can it be washed?

Puppy came with a blanket. Got her a month ago. She plays with it from time to time. The breeder told us not to wash it. It is disgusting.

When can we wash the puppy blanket?

I’d wash it now, it’s just so they have a familiar scent at their new home but after a month I imagine they are familiar with your scent now. I would give it back after a wash though

Agreed, wash the dog blanket 😍

Puppy almost certainly doesn't recall "a month ago". The smell might be reminiscent of something familiar but "past", and no more. You are her family now and the smells of you are what make her feel safe and part of your family.

I accidentally* washed my pups blanket on the third day of him being home, I was convinced he was going to be up all night crying, he wasn't and didn't seem to miss it. thankfully.
*He pulled everything out of his crate and left it strewn across the kitchen floor and it got mixed up with the washing.

Thank you everyone for the advice. With the hot weather, the pungent smell got me.
Washed it and gave it back to the pup. She played with it. I could tell she could recognise the blanket.
