Just looked on Amazon for a spray to use on my dogs blankets when travelling to get reduce anxiety and there are lots and lots! Can anyone recommend one they have used? He is usually pretty good so there isn’t any extreme behaviour concerns just want to
make him as comfortable as possible.

Lavender oil is as good as anything. Sniffing, licking and chewing are all calming for dogs so maybe give him a chew instead? I have never really found over the counter calming things very effective with the exception of Zylkene which I have used on cats very effectively.

I've found that a long lasting chew does the trick too.

By the time she's finished it she's a lot calmer.

Now we've been doing it for about a year she has the chew and then goes to sleep.
