Dog and cat suddenly swiping at each other

Hello!

I have a dog and two cats who have always got on fine. One cat friendlier than the other but all have been relatively easy happy pets (once past the puppy/kitten stage). Cats aged 5 and 8 years and dog 4. All been with us since babyhood. All of a sudden about three weeks ago, dog and younger cat (the friendlier one) suddenly seem to keep clashing/fighting. I can't see anything in our environment that has particularly changed and I'm honestly a bit baffled. Cat got a nasty swipe in today and I'm keeping them separate but it does mean one always getting shut out a room. Any theories or advice??

I wonder if the dog accidentally hurt the cat or frightened it?

No advice I'm afraid but I hope you get it sorted 🤞

Vet check for both. Take it from there.
