Crossing the bridge.

Our family dog crossed the bridge on Monday. He had such a hard start in life and was a rescue. He became such a personality and the kindest, funniest, cleverest dog I have ever known. He loved football and toys and lived for treats. We miss him so much.

It sounds like despite a tough start he landed on his feet with you and was a much loved member of the family.

So sorry for your loss. My beautiful boy (also a rescue) crossed the bridge about 2 weeks ago. Ex-h kept him after we split, even though my boy had chosen me as his person. I only had a few precious moments with him in the last 3 years and didn't get to say goodbye as ex-h left it to my ds2 to tell me he'd gone. I cried for about 24 hours solid.

It's so tough when they go.

He was very much loved. Monty fell on his feet when he found my folks. He had a horrible start, he didn’t understand how to play when he first arrived. Dad would throw a ball and monty would just look and wonder what he was doing! But he became a great goalkeeper and devoted player of fetch. They are such an integral part of the family.

Awk hugs. We put our beautiful girl to sleep today and I can't stop crying. All any of us can do is take comfort knowing they'd the best life and their final moments were spent with us. It's a hard decision but one that's made with love. X

I'm so sorry OP and @Mondaymanic. We lost our beautiful golden boy this week. He was the happiest, friendliest, cutest, most lovable big goof with a huge smile and the softest velvet ears in the world. His tail was wagging right to his last breath. I feel like my heart has been ripped out.
