Is it normal for a 7 month old puppy to need to go out every hour to avoid accidents?

I have a 7 month old Dachshund X and we still haven't mastered toilet training just yet. He still needs taking out every hour to avoid any accidents and if I extend this by more than 90 mins, he almost always has an accident.

Following as my pup is the same.

Not uncommon with small breed dogs.

Yep, pretty much.

Dachshunds are small dogs and notoriously hard to toilet train.

Is this likely to improve? Or is it a case of I'll always have to worry that he's not 100% reliable because he's mainly Dachshund (58%, so maybe his other breeds can come through Grin)?

It's impossible to say, but try not to panic yet, he's still only a puppy and plenty of puppies have accidents at that age :)

If he knows to go outside and taking him out every hour avoids accidents, just keep going with that for now.
