Flea/tick treatment and wormer

Having just paid a crazy amount for two tablets for preventative tick/flea and worm treatment I'm wondering if there's an equivalent online that would cost less? I notice the brands my vet uses are prescription only. Thanks

We have a prescription from the vet for NexGuard - it's the only thing we've found effective. Apparently fleas are becoming resistant to Frontline. I then buy the tablets from Pet Drugs Online as its cheaper than our vets.

To cover for lungworm it is prescription only. I joined our practice health scheme and the flea etc treatment would cost almost twice what I pay. I also get vaccinations and other benefits.

Why not ask the vet for a prescription and buy the medication online?

I wouldn't use non-prescription wormer as you need to cover lungworm.

I'll look into a monthly plan with the vets. Taking into account it's every 3 months £200 a year seems like a lot of money to cover ticks/fleas/worms

Wormer you can buy without prescription, so is easy. I buy Droncit on Amazon or from a pet supplies company, and it is only needed every 3 months for an adult to cover tapeworm. (Drontal is similar, but I think covers tapeworm and roundworm.)

I then get a written 6 month prescription from the vet for Simparica Trio pills. These cover everything else - fleas, ticks, lungworm, heartworm, roundworm. I buy these online, but I've found prices can vary.

I'd look at a monthly plan too.

Mines about £18 a month but I get all flea/wormers
Annual booster vaccination
Annual Kennel Cough vaccination
2 Vet Consultations
3 Nurse Consultations where they can check weight/clip nails

Then you can get money off of neuter and dentals plus some other things.

Mine is similar to the above and free consultations too, so no fee just to have something checked out
