Dog has been constipated for 4 days: tried everything

My dog has been constipated for 4 days.
He’ been to the vet 3 times and is taking the prescribed laxative. He’s also had an enema yesterday which released some diarrhoea in the vet clinic but nothing since he came home yesterday.
They said they can do another enema today.
They have taken 2 X-rays and it is dry impacted faeces not a blockage.
He is a 13 year old toy poodle cross

What type of constipation relief have they tried? Lactulose tend to be good getting things moving. Might be good to try before his enema to aid in the procedure

Is he drinking plenty and have you tried purée veg such as butternut squash mixed with poached chicken.? Also a decent walk to encourage movement.

What does he eat? Perhaps you need to change his food. I give my dog Kefir a few time a week for her gut health. She has perfect consistency poops always. Have a look on the 'all about dog food' website to check how nutritious your current feed is. Perhaps being an older dog, a change may be needed.

Tuna in sunflower oil is ddogs remedy. He had it following leg surgery. Suggested by the vet.

Pumpkin purée cured my dogs constipation (a little bit too well!).

This dog was constipated LAST JULY!

I think we can assume he’s either sorted by now or exploded.

I really hope he's sorted...

My dog finally pooped after the second enema. He was really too impacted for other treatments like pumpkin and laxatives to work.
Doing well now.
