Spaying my female dachshund

My girl dog has already had one season when she was 9 months old. I want her to have another season and then next year when she's 2 I intend to have her spayed. Has anyone had keyhole surgery for this? The thought of causing her pain makes me feel awful. I've been through this before with 3 other bitches, but she's such a tiny little thing and I want to make it easy for her.
Any information would be great!

My female sausage is getting spayed on the 15th Aug after 1 season. No advice but I know how you feel 😔

I have recently had a bitch spayed, the first I’ve ever done by keyhole method. Recovery was so much easier on her - it is significantly more expensive, but I was pleased I’d made that choice.

A friend had their dachshund bitch spayed recently and she was fine. The wound healed extremely quickly and she bounced back straight away. In fact it was hard work stopping her running about and trying to jump up in the days afterwards.

Your girl is beautiful. We have a male dappled mini.

Oh your dogs are all so beautiful 😍
She is our fourth dachshund. Sadly we lost 2 of them last year, it was devastating 😢
One old boy left out of the 3 we had. They love each other!
Thanks everyone for the great advice, I'll definitely go for keyhole when the time comes 😊

Hi everyone, i hope you dont mind me posting as its a bit off topic, we have a 9 week old female minature dachshund she is adorable. I take her for 'walks' holding her as not had full injections yet and everyone stops me to say how they are the worst dogs ever, not friendly, impossible to train etc etc. I never ask for there opinion but im not gonna lie it has really upset me and instead of enjoying her as i was im now dreading everything to come, please tell me yours were not like this.

When you have a dog everyone is an expert! Even if they have never had a dog in their life

She is beautiful. Enjoy her. She looks perfect to me.

you can safely ignore the opinions of random strangers!! Do you have a partner/friend that thinks she's the best too?

my friend said that me loving her puppy as much as she did made her feel so happy & less worried about random strangers comments!!

zall I'd say is start training her now & don't let her do stuff now you don't want her doing when she's grown, it might be cute now....
