Bitch in season

Anyone had a season that seemed to stop and start? Not sure if this constitutes a split season or whether it's normal to be up and down!

She started her season with a few drops of blood two weeks ago. Noticed the odd pink drips for a couple of days then nothing for a few days. Day 9 noticed some yellow drips (which according to google can be the second stage when ovulating) then nothing for couple of days....yesterday day 14 proper blood drips started.

I'm hoping it wasn't a false start because it's a bloody pain having to keep her on the lead all the time (am paying to hire secure field couple of times a week) and I don't fancy another 3 weeks!

No advice here, but sending solidarity! My pup is on day 6 of her first season and nobody is having a good time! Poor thing is really down in the dumps and we can’t wait for it to be over. Hope there’s some helpful advice along soon.

Could she have just been keeping herself very clean the whole time and wasn't bleeding much at first?

No idea but I sympathise, my pup had her first season at 7 months and bled for 19 days, she bled loads and I was constantly cleaning/washing. It was awful, she was so needy and naughty as well.

Never again! I had her spayed 3 months later, thankfully she's a small breed so I didn't need to let her have a season or two more before getting her done.

I don't think so, as now she's bleeding properly she's not doing a great job of keeping herself clean 🙄 I'm pretty sure she's ovulated this week (rather than it being a split season) as I've run her at a private field with a friend's neutered male and she was throwing herself at him and reversing up to him with her tail aloft! He's not remotely interested much to her dismay.
