My friend went with his goldie and I was so jealous.
Definitely making plans for the next one in 5 years!! I can't think of anything better to be honest. They are the bestest.

TheDogsMother · 19/07/2023 22:08

Awww how lovely are they. Magnificent dogs.

Lovely photos. I didn't realise the breed was quite "new" but I did find this very sad.

The first litter of golden retrievers was born in 1868 to a Tweed water spaniel, a breed now extinct.

Oh how wonderful. Truly the best dog breed in the world.

He sent a wonderful video of lots of excited barks and lots of floofy tails "held high with a merry action" (that's the breed standard!)
I'm in Scotland so no excuse for next time!

Merry action 😂😂

It really does describe them well.

Unluckycat1 · 19/07/2023 23:24

Gorgeous. And amazing that they all hung out so placidly while being filmed, they obviously have the lovliest temperament.

I've not watched the videos yet but it struck me looking at the first photo, I'm not sure there's many breeds you could assemble that many dogs in the middle with the humans all on the edge.

"Tail held high with a merry action" is a descriptive phrase of genius.

Spot on, with regards to a Goldie plume!
