Activities for post-spayed dog

Hello! Getting my lovely little dog spayed next week. She's usually very active, into everything, absolutely loves her walks and running around, so I'm dreading not being able to let her into the garden or take her on walks to tire her out post-operation!

I was wondering if anyone has any advice about what worked for them with their dogs to occupy them when they weren't allowed to move about much? Any help would be appreciated!

Kong filled with treats and frozen, Yak chew
( Floppy Ear have great natural chews) licky mat, snuffle mat, new cuddly/ chew toy. Hope all goes well.

So ours was in the garden on a lead but she just wouldn't do her business so I let her off just to potter round. She was on a walk (very short) after a couple of days. She deffo didn't want to be leaping around and was quite sedate for a week. The body suit was a godsend.

I've had several puppies post spay, and they've been full of beans the day after! My vet told me it's far safer to take them on a few short sniffy lead walks than have them doing zoomies round the garden, so that's what I've done. As well as that, I give them their food allowance in frozen kongs/bones/puzzles.

You can walk them OP, it’s only jumping and leaping about that’s a problem, so on lead sniffy walks (set trails of treats if she’s very active, to keep her head down). Otherwise lickimat, frozen Kong, snuffle box etc.

mine were always fine very quickly after spaying (24h) and the issue is just stopping them going so mad they risk their stitches. They don’t need to not move about much, just not leap and do gymnastics!
