Puppy not allowed out for 4 weeks after second injection?

We have recently just got a mini dachshund puppy. He’s currently 11 weeks and just had his second jabs. We took him back to were the breeder took him for his jabs on Friday and the vet said he can’t go out for 4 weeks after his second injection.

is this normal? I don’t remember it being that long with my other dog. I’m sure we only waited a week! Just seems like a long time.

I've only ever waited 7 days- but equally in most UK areas dogs are vaccinated so limited risk anyway

We were told 3 days this time but to keep away from stagnant water and high risk areas e.g. bins which might attract rats for a few weeks but walks along the pavement or a run around on a playing field were fine.
