Found a tick?

First time dog owners here. 1 year old lab. Just gave him a shower and noticed a white thing stuck to his head. Hubby pulled it out. We think a tick? Ordered some more flea and tick stuff. Just a bit worried for us and him now. He sleeps on our bed. Dog seems absolutely fine.

Get a specific tick remover in case it happens again, makes their removal easy & safe There are loads of them on Amazon for under a fiver. It’s the way that you remove them that matters, not to leave the head behind.

Ticks are usually brown in my experience. Better Google to double check it’s a tick.

I agree that you need to get the head out as well.

If it is a tick, I suggest you check yourself out as well.

Ive been getting ticks on me just from gardening.

You need to use a proper tick removal tool - don't just pull them out or you'll leave the head behind.

I wouldn't worry though - most dogs pick up ticks at this time of year. As long as he's properly treated it shouldn't be anything to worry about.
