Can a puppy eat 'adult' food?

So my older dog was on Barking heads but wasn't super enamoured with it.

I got a pup who I decided on orijen puppy for. Older dog decided orijen pup was the best thing ever and was constantly trying to eat pups food.

So I switched older dog to adult orijen, which she loves

But now puppy has decided adult orijen is much, much preferable to orijen pup and refuses her food and spends every moment the bowls are down trying to get to the adult version.

Its not just food jealousy either, I've tested her, away from big sis and she goes for the adult version every time.

Can I just buy a big bag of orijen adult for them both 😂😂😭

I think puppy food is designed to have all the nutrition for a growing dog whereas adult food doesn't have to.

However I used to feed mine dog food that was also fine for puppies so I didn't have 'puppy' and 'adult' food.

What does it say on the back of the food for the age it is suitable from?

Ah I just looked and it says puppy, so they can eat it!

Hmm I might just switch them both to the same then!

Orijen adult is fine for puppies if you buy a puppy supplement for raw fed puppies, the supplement should cover any nutrients, vitamins and minerals that might be lacking in the adult food, and Orijen itself is close enough to raw that you won’t be overdoing it, puppies just need higher levels of certain micros than adult dogs (b12 folate, vitamin d, omega oils etc) not sure on the exact vitamins you’d need to supplement for, but a complete raw puppy supplement should be fine, something like YuCare multivit young dog chewies, or anumul liquid puppy multivitamin supplement.

Thankyou so much for that info!
