Does anyone have one of these and if so what made you choose this breed? I adore them but don't know much about how they are as pets

I don’t have one but know someone who has three, two rescue one bought as a puppy. I meet them when with my own dogs. Theirs are lovely, nice temperament, quiet! Unusual for terriers ( as I know 😂) , May just be theirs as all the terriers I’ve owned, & that’s many, are “ look out world, here I come”

I had a half bedlington. Someone said to me just before I got him, well as long as he doesn’t have bedlington you’ll be fine, they’re untrainable.

he was the best dog ever. So intelligent. Brilliant with children. Amazing with sheep (trained him young.)

Otherwise, a law unto himself. I spent 1.5 hrs once chasing him round a tree because there was a squirrel up it. If you do get one, really focus on the training aspect young!

This sounds like a description of my beddy x Cocker spaniel (except the great with sheep bit!).

The first time the health visitor came when dd was a newborn DH missed most of the appointment as he was chasing our dog around the field behind our house, in the snow, where dog had escaped to in order to find a dead sheep.

I have a bedlington x whippet aged 7 months. She’s our first dog and the absolute love of my life! She’s calm, quiet, loves a good run and then snoozes most of the day. She’s affectionate, but not a lap dog, and is a bit cautious until she’s sussed other people/dogs out. Then she’s happy as Larry. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
