chronic Bronchiolitis in 13yr dog - any VETS around please?

Can you kindly please tell me the difference between this condition and a plain old bout of bronchitis ? prognosis please ? life adjustments for the dog ? and any other useful professional advice v gratefully received ...thank you

Do you mean chronic bronchitis? Has it been diagnosed with x-rays.

Did your vet not explain? I'm sure if you phone them tomorrow and leave a message the vet can/will phone you and tell you what's what.

Not a vet... but bronchitis and bronchiolitis affect different bits of the lungs.

This. Bronchitis affects the larger airways and bronchiolitis affects the smaller airways. I believe they’re mostly caused by viral infections, but can be caused by other things. Smoking around your pets can be a major cause of bronchitis. It completely depends on the severity of them how they’re treated. They can be no worse than a cold to potentially fatal. Treatments can include antibiotics if it’s bacterial, anti inflammatories/steroids etc
