My beautiful 5 (nearly 6) year old labradoodle has got haemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Only started being poorly yesterday. She's now in hospital having iv fluids. She was so poorly. The vet was pretty confident she'll recover with some fluids but I'm in tears. My beautiful lovely doggie. She's not here. I can't hear her paws clacking on the floor. She won't be here to cuddle me if I start reading my book. I'm not sure what I'd do without her. Any doggies had this and got better?

My previous Labrador had that and recovered after a day and night on IV fluids in the veterinary hospital. Hope your dear dog comes home soon to cuddle.

Yes. My lab girl had it a couple of years ago. It’s very worrying, and the symptoms are horrible & scary. But the vet is doing the right thing, keeping her hydrated.
My dog has food intolerance but was on metacam for an injury, ( overnight vets) and the usual vet thought that was what had precipitated it in her. She had fluids for 24 hours.
She was then put onto pardale for the injury and that helped calm her inflamed insides.
She is a happy healthy girl now, we are all very much more careful with her diet.

There is an outbreak of that near me apparently (Salisbury/Andover) as there have been warnings on local Facebook pages, I think someone said it was down to e-coli but not sure how right that is, I hope your pupper recovers quickly and is back home with you.
