We will be bringing home our Lab pup tomorrow morning. He is 8 weeks old. Think we’ve got everything and we’re as prepared as we can be but any last minute tips or pearls of wisdom? My husband has had dogs before but it’s my first time.

Oh he is just perfect!! I want one🥺. My cocker is 9 and he is my rock and most favourite person. He’s perfect equal amounts of total genius and utter drip! Have so much fun and remember whilst he is little to keep his brain entertained. Mental stimulation is worth so many walks, and he will have great naps.

Absolutely adorable..... Labs are the best dogs. Plenty of enforced naps, chew toys to redirect to, and use a cue word for toilet training. If puppy blues appear, they WILL pass.

All of the above and we reluctantly got a crate. Hated the idea but it was a house saver!

Get good pet insurance. We had Petplan, expensive but worth it. All the vets we used would direct claim, ie we didn't have to pay them and claim from Petplan, they did the admin.

Otto is beautiful, have fun!

Apologies, I see from the photo he has a crate. We put a blanket over ours and it became a space to retreat to.
