Car ramp recommendations

Hi all. My lab is now getting on a bit and I noticed she's finding it harder and harder to jump in and out of the car. She had her annual vet check recently and he said he didn't think there was anything wrong as she didn't seem in pain with any of her joints.

He suggested a ramp or stairs to help her with the car. Has anyone got one for their large(ish) dog and, if so, can you recommend it?

Also, have people found ramps or steps better?

TIA.

We have a ramp for our lab. It’s a telescopic one. Had a folding one which she managed to break but this one is fine so far. Not sure where we got it from as DH got it.

I don’t think our dog would like steps but the ramp is fine.

I see a woman with very smart aluminium steps, fold to the size a briefcase. From Inner Wolf, about £100. She has several Lab-sized dogs who trot up it quite happily.

We tried a ramp for an ageing Springer, but she found it too slippery to climb up. We recently bought some "doggy steps" for our ginormous Newfypoo puppy, not because she couldn't jump into the car, but when young it could have harmed her joints. The steps fold up to about the size of a shoebox and store easily behind a seat. Ours has solid steps rather than fabric, so climbing them is a less wobbly experience for your pooch. They are not cheap, but totally worth the expense.

Thanks @Henry176 - those were the kind of steps I was looking at (ie non slip, solid step to them).

p.s congrats on the new puppy :)
