Just had my renewal from Tesco and they've raised it by £6 a month, so I'm going to have a shop around.

Who do you swear by?

Cross breed, male, 1 year old, not yet neutered. No health issues.

Currently have premier cover - total of £7500 per year.

If you ring Tesco they may give you a discount - we're with them for all for three of our animals and when one died recently I called to take her off the policy - I managed to get a discount for all three remaining animals 🥰

manypets have been good for me I had to claim this year and my price went down at renewal - I don’t know if they hadn’t processed the claim properly and I’ll get clobbered next year or what. Claiming was easy though.

ManyPets have been great for me - big claims paid within 4 hours and very little hassle. However, they do increase premiums as a result of claims (among other things).

The only other I would consider is PetPlan which seems to be universally recommended and accepted by vets for direct payment claims.

If last year was your first year with them you probably got an intro discount which will have been for the first year but £6 a month isn't actually to bad. Have you tried doing a new quote with them again? If no pre conditions you might get it cheaper or roughly the same price. I would call them anyway as they may be able to put a discount on it.

Obviously prices and cover will depend on what comes up for you specifically, but customer service wise I cannot praise More Than highly enough at the moment. Such an easy claims process and payment very prompt - I put a repeat claim through this week and within two hours I had an email to confirm they'd sent the payment.

My young Labrador is insured with Many Pets. It only went up by a few pounds a year, currently about £450 from memory. £15,000 cover. Opted for a larger excess to keep the premium down. Previously we have used Marks and Spencer and Petguard.
