Hi,

I've got an older JRT (14) who is starting to slow down a bit now, still loves her walks but she is getting slower as they do with age especially on longer walks, I have a younger dog that needs longer walks and I enjoy them myself, so I'm looking for something I can carry the smaller dog in when she needs a rest so she can still come with us on longer walks (I couldn't leave her at home on her own knowing the other dog is going for a walk, that's not fair) and enjoy them but to account for her slowing down and she can rest while I carry her for a while and then walk again.

I've carried her a little bit recently when she's looked like she's starting to struggle but I really need to be hands free for the other dog and lead/long line and although she's quite happy to be carried, she makes my arms ache! She's only going to get older and struggle more so I'd like to get something now that she can get used to and use in small bursts until she starts needing it more.

Has anyone used one and could recommend a good one? There's loads on the market, I don't like the ones where the legs hang through so a sling/backpack type would be my preference.

Thank you 😊

I got this last week for my 10 week old cockapoo puppy, as I did two days in the house and went stir crazy so needed a way to take him out.

It's been good so far, it's quite large, and comfy to wear.

He will be allowed to walk normally in 2 weeks time, so you'd be more than welcome to it then if you wanted to see if it was any use.

@Southwest12

That's the type of thing I was looking for, thank you - and thank you for your kind offer - could I buy it from you once you have finished using it?

Quite large and comfy to wear are the recommendations I was looking for, sounds perfect and if you won't be needing it then it'll have a purpose here.

Thank you 😊

Oh you can have it for free, it would be good for someone else to get use from it after this cute terror has no need for it!

And right there is why I stay on MN DaffodilSmile

That's amazingly kind of you - thank you! Are you ok to post it please? (assuming we're not in the same area!) And I'll pay postage of course.

How about I make a donation to your favourite charity instead?

I can PM my address and you can reply with your bank/charity details?

And yes @Vitriolinsanity I agree, some lovely, kind people here like @Southwest12 !

Aw, how lovely. 🥰

My friend's puppy had a bag like that before he had his inoculations so he could go outside and get some fresh air. He loved it. Dog in a bag.

What a lovely thread. I hope your old girl likes it OP and it allows her to still get out and about. 😊

Me and the tiny terror will walk to the post office as soon as he's allowed out properly, unless you're in Liverpool? Which would be very random!

PM me your address and as soon as we can go out we'll get it posted to you.

Maverickess · 16/05/2023 20:37

@Southwest12 unfortunately not in Liverpool, I'll pm my address - thank you so much 🥰

Dog in a bag!

Thank you so much @Southwest12 she enjoyed her rest while we were out today and I've made a donation to your charity (which is a great cause).

And this whole thing has lifted my spirits as well, knowing there's some kind people left in the world, I've had a bit of a run of problems recently and this has cheered me, thank you 😊

Yay, dog in a bag. 🤗 🥳

This is the best thread ever. You know it's good when you're tearing up and smiling at the same time. And there's photos of gorgeous dogs. 🥰

You've inspired me so I'm off to walk mine. No bag!!

Southwest12 · 16/06/2023 17:03

Oh I've just seen this! I'm so glad she enjoyed her walk in the bag, she looks like a queen being carried!
