Cut pad what to do.

My lab has a cut pad from a walk. He's not limping and doesn't appear in discomfort although he's not as bouncy as normal. I cleaned and bandaged it yesterday. I can't see the cut tho. Checked it later and it didn't seem to be bleeding so assumed minor. It opened up again this morning and started bleeding so I've bandaged it again. It seemed to stop but started again when I let him in garden. Should I go vets? How long should I not walk him ? ( he will be devastated he loves walks)

I would get him seen and take the advice from the vet re walks

Cut pads are a nightmare to heal.

My mutt needed stitches in 3 pads after a poorly planned trip to a beach with exposed mussel beds... Worth a vet trip tbh.

I'd go to the vet. Our dog needed two stitches recently to a small cut on the paw pad, the vet said that it would keep opening when she walked on it so better to get stitches.

I would see the vet if it’s bleeding - mine had a cut which he barely noticed but it needed a fair bit of stitches in the end and I’m so sorry but took 3 weeks to heal enough for a proper walk!!
